So, a lot of my friends and others that I know have all entered college with a clear career objective in mind, and a clear goal they want to reach. Now, I know that a lot of people will switch majors once or twice and take different roads to get to where they're going, but they still knew what they wanted. After 2 1/2 of college, I still had no clue at all about what I wanted to pursue as a career and that was starting to bother me. I began to question myself, and started to ask is college really for me? The grades and the work weren't the problem, but the lack of ambition and feeling lost began to take it's toll. I entered college wanted to major in business only because that's a "safe choice," but honestly could care less about it. I then switched to history because I've always been good at it and enjoyed it, but then came to realize that that's just it. I like history, but I don't love it.... Then my grandpa suggested journalism because I like to write, and for a while that seemed like a good idea, but I think in the back of my head I knew all along that that wasn't for me. So after once again feeling lost, it just hit me.
Fire fighting.
Even though I didn't know what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted to do something that was important, and I wanted to do something that would have a positive impact on others. I mean, I'm NOT the kind of person who can handle a desk job because I know I'd go crazy. I'm not the kind of person who needs to have a 10 million dollar house with rooms that never get used. I'm not the kind of person who is going to put material things before everything else. I've never really believed that someones career defines them as a person because I've seen too many exceptions, but I would love for my career to really say something about who I am. I'm finally sure about something I want to work my ass off to achieve. I'm determined to get this done, and I'm not going to fail. So, my new goal is to become a fire fighter within the next 2 1/2 years. I'm sure of this, and for the first time in a long time, I'm really sure of something.

Updates updates and Country music.
WEll! It's been awhile since I've last blogged, so I feel it is time. Here is the skinny on what's been up with me.
My relationship with Courtney has been really awesome, and I'm very happy with her. I got a DOG!!! For years I've really wanted to get a bassett hound, and I finally got one. He's about 5 years old, and his name is Elvis. He's a really good dog, and he's already house broken and gets along great with my cat Marshall. He wakes me up every morning to take him out, and he barks when I leave my apartment. Awesome dog.
I've really gotten into making new music and playing a lot again. Me and my friend Eddy are really wanting to write some music together and we've been Jamming a lot and we even made $30 playing on the streets of Downtown Fort Worth! I've also become a fan of Country music. Weird i knoooowww because I used to hate country music, but I've been listening to it a lot lately and I'm starting to really like it. I don't like ALL of it, but I really like Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, and Taylor Swift :) Sooo that's basically it lately, But i'll try to blog more about other things besides what i've been up to.

Weird stuff with the Ouiji board.
Okay, before you think I'm crazy or anything for playing with that stupid board, hear me out and trust that I won't be messing with that thing ever again.
My old roommate Chris told me that him and some buddies got an ouiji board to mess with because they were bored, and it was really cheap. He told me that some really weird stuff went down, and something blew out a candle and later made the flames rise on another candle. This sounded weird and I was very skeptical but It sounded like something fun to try with some friends when we got board. So me and my friend Phillip went out to get the ouiji board. After looking for it at the mall (which didn't have one)we found one at Target. It's made by Parker Brothers and sold as a board game for kids, which is kind of funny in itself. It's all about the $$$$$$ Later when we made it back to my place and decided to test it out before our friend Eddy got there to hang out too. We took it out of the box, read the instructions, and then proceeded to look up other facts online. Just about everything online regarding use of the ouiji board were pretty negative, and many advised not to use one at all. But the most consistent thing that was posted online was to "NEVER ASK A SPIRIT TO DO A PHYSICAL ACT." We must have seen that at least 10 different times on different sites. So we set up the board, and put our hands on it and after a while of nothing happening we got it to move a little bit. At that point it was just funny, not creepy, but then the point of the planchet jumped on it's own really quickly, and THAT was pretty cool, and weird. About that time Eddy showed up and we messed with the ouiji board some more and were pretty impressed because of the movement. After we got some food (HOOTERS!!!) we came back to mess with it some more. Then that's when things got really weird. After some simple yes or no questions, we began asking questions that only one of us would know the answer to, and the board would answer correctly every time. (WTF) Then this is what happened.
US- Are there multiple spirits here?
Ouiji- yes.
US- How many?
Ouiji - 6
US - can you spell out one of your names? Whom we're mostly talking too.
Ouiji- R.U.T.H.E
US- Are we talking to "Ruthe?"
Ouiji - Yes.
"Ruthe" said that she was born in 1947 and died in 2006 from natural causes. She lived in my current apartment complex, but not in my apartment. I live in 281, and she said she lived in 241. She said that she was neither in heaven or hell but caught in between. She was pretty cool we thought.
Later like dumb assess we asked her to turn out my bathroom light, or blow out a candle. She said she wanted too, but didn't try because something was preventing her, someone of something called "OVOR." She said that OVOR was evil, and was preventing her from doing what we asked. She was scared of it, but said that we had nothing to worry about. That was pretty weird weird, but then my cat started freaking out and he started whining and walking in circles and pacing around. The spirit said that he knew what we were doing, and it was scaring him. THAT was weird. We stopped playing with it around then and all of us weren't sure what to think. It was trippy.
Since we played, I've decided not to mess with that anymore. Even though nothing bad happened, I don't want to mess with anything that I don't really understand like that. All I know is that what happened I can't really explain, but it changed my opinion of Ouiji boards for sure. My advice, DON'T PLAY WITH ONE. Unless you want to be all haunted and shit haha

I freaking loved Valentines day for once!
I used to hate this "holiday" so much. There was no day I looked forward to the least than this day. Granted, I've never had a really good V-day before in my life, so I didn't know that it could be so great, but holy hell that all changed today.
I planned out this great idea I had for Courtney, and it worked out better than I could've ever imagined. I picked her up and we went to my apartment, and I opened the door for her and the look on her face said it all. She walked in to see pink rose peddles sprinkled on the floor leading to a rose arrangement with her gifts and chocolate. I lit over 30 candles and had white stringed lights set up (it looked sooo cool) and music playing when we walked in. She looked so shocked and so happy :) It was perfect. We exchanged gifts and had an amazing night. It couldn't have been more perfect.
I used to think that this holiday was dumb because it's lame that people are only romantic one time a year it seemed, but I think that's the wrong way to look at it. I'm now looking at V-day as the one day to go overboard and way over the top for someone because you can. No one is ridiculously romantic 100% of the time, so just go for it on this day! I'm not saying only do that once a year, but when it comes around just do it anyway if you really care for someone, because it can be really really fun and amazing :) I'm a romantic anyway, so today was a good day to really let that be let out and just have a great time.
so, I no longer hate this day :) I think I could've always liked this day, but I just needed to find the right person to make it work :)

My girl is awesome
I love my girlfriend! She's so awesome. The end.
Or! I could say more, so I shall.
Man, I really haven't felt so connected or happy to be with someone in a loooonnng time. I'm so happy with her :) We're huge dorks, and when we have really dorky moments we give each other high fives to acknowledge the dorkyness. She is like the girliest girl I've ever met, but that's awesome! Because I don't wanna date a girl who's just like one of the guys, I just want to date a girl. I'm actually really excited for Valentines day for once, and I can't wait to see how it goes :) I haven't blogged in a while, so this was a "I need to blog," blog. I'll try to write more this month, but about things other than my awesome life. Haha

Twenty Ten
Time to Blog. I'm not the best at keeping up with this, so it's time for an update.
Well, things have been going really well for me, and I'm very thankful for that. Things have been going really great with Courtney. We've been dating each other since the beginning of December, and it's been awesome. Yesterday, my good friend Jamie came to visit me from College station and it was really awesome to see her again. I showed her UTA and she was really impressed and is considering going there in the near future. We had lunch, went to check out the gaylord hotel, and then hit up the grapevine mall. After that we met up with my friend eddy and went to HOOTERS! Then we had an awesome time at the hookah bar. Overall, twas an awesome time. And i get a $900 check Friday! Whooo! Great way to start the new year

I've never cared more about caring less.
Lately I've felt like such a free spirit. I'm really happy with my situation right now, even though it's nothing special. I don't have a relationship, but I have a girl that I'm with, and I like it that way. Have a pretty good college job, and money is nice. School is lame, but getting better now that I have a direction I want to go in. I have a cat that makes things funny at home, and I have great friends that I've been hanging out with regularly. I'm looking at life with a very carefree, easygoing attitude lately and it feels really good. I kind of have a fear of commitment now (hahaha says the guy who had a 4 year relationship) and I can't really explain it. I'm seeing someone, and I wont see anyone else, but I don't want to labeled as a BF. Stupid I know, but whatever. All I know is I am totally enjoying myself right now. Also, jazz music is taking over my ears.
